André Vasconcellos - +brasileiro (2013)

The brand new album from André Vasconcellos Sextet bring to us back, the sound, feeling and flavor of Brazilian Original Jazz !
This Music is inspired on the music the great brazilians like Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta, Edson Machado, Tom Jobim and others did on past !
But this album is not just a reverence !It is a fresh and contemporary view about the brazilian harmonies, grooves and tradition !
The musicians are all very inspired and creative ! Rafael Barata e Xande Figueiredo on Drums, David Feldman on piano, Danilo Sinna alto sax, Josue Lopez on tenor sax and the 18yrs boy Pedro Martins on Guitar are the lead sextet together Vasconcellos on bass. The album has three special guests ! Hamilton de Holanda, one of the best mandolin player and inventor of a new musical language join the group on "Tempo de Partir". Gabriel Grossi, Toot's prodige, show why he is a revelation of harmonica on "Sem Adeus" and the Virtuoso Eduardo Neves, who came from the samba and choro tradition, plays the flute on "Bolero".
The Vasconcello's bass is a important piece on this context. He is the one who changes the feel of composition and intention of the group between the old and new ! The grooves can sometime be very traditional and cool and others, very contemporary and fresh ! The compositions bring to the audience the relax and smooth feel of the brazilian bossa-nova and jazz.
All the aspects of the album were carefully well done. The arrangements, sound and production are impecables !
We hope you enjoy this musical trip !
